Science Week

- what do we do?

Science Week is an innovative communication initiative—the first of its kind in Spain—organised by FCRI since 1996. Every year it features a wide range of over 500 multidisciplinary activities for scientific and technological dissemination throughout Catalonia, including seminars and round tables, open houses at research centres and museums, workshops, courses and exhibitions—all free and open to participants of all ages and backgrounds.

Close to 1.8 million people have participated in Science Week over the past two decades, with a yearly average of 72,000 visitors.

Science Week is sponsored by the Ministry of Business and Knowledge of the Government of Catalonia, through the Secretary of Universities and Research, in collaboration with more than 100 organisations, including 12 Catalan universities.

Science Week is also supported by various companies such as "la Caixa" Foundation.
