Training for secondary teachers

Aimed at secondary school teachers in science, technology and mathematics, the FCRi Science in the Classroom Programme offers in July diverse summer courses that encourage the introduction of the scientific method into schools. Those courses will allow to obtain a certificate of training issued by the Catalan Ministry of Education.

The objectives of summer courses are to introduce the scientific method effectively into the classroom; to reflect upon research and the parameters that define the scientific method; to offer practical resources for secondary teachers to carry out scientific experiments; to analyse the characteristics of a good experiment that allows the pupils to gain knowledge of scientific concepts.

The courses are supported by Obra Social “la Caixa”, and in addition to the FCRI are co-organized by the Catalan Ministry of Education, University of Barcelona, the University of Girona, Lleida University, the Barcelona Technical University, the Rovira i Virgili University and the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia.
